figures like flame, quilt, and birdseye often all in the same piece of wood. A graphite
 neck reinforcement is added to all Redwood burl violins for stability. Some pieces
of redwood burl  are more expensive than the example shown here and some require lots
 of extra care in sanding and finishing, so the price shown here is the base price for redwood
burl. All redwood burl violins are quoted individually based on the cost of the actual piece
of wood and any extra effort required in sanding and finishing. The gold hardware
(a $110 option)  can add a touch of distinction, especially on darker wood grain or dark
