The seven string violin encompasses more than the range of a cello thru the
range of a violin.  Normal tuning for a seven string violin (from bass to treble
 pitches) is Bb, F, C, G, D, A, & E.  The Low Bb string of this violin is one
whole step lower than the low C string of a cello.
The instrument photographed above shows the dramatic color shift of harlequin
 paint. It changes from the teal on the left to the purple on the right as it is rotated
 in respect to the veiwer for a stunning effect.   (Finish sample available on request.)
