Most of our violins are made of maple. Our opaque finish violins are made of maple lacking the beautiful grain of the samples above or in our violin gallery. Woods other than maple may produce a lighter or heavier instrument or different tone coloration.
All woods are natural materials and one can expect wild variations between different boards. Call or email us to find out about what beautiful pieces we have in stock. We search far and wide to gather the exceptional woods we use; we are passionate about wood. We have limited quantities of many rare and exotic woods that are too scarce to widely promote. We are also committed to using sustainably harvested woods whenever possible. Please let us know if there is a particular wood from which you are interested in having an instrument made.
